My high-level approach to preparing for birth goes far deeper than childbirth courses and relaxation classes. It is so much more than talking out your fears and dreams, repeating affirmations, and pain management. Our work is laser-focused on your nervous system, tailored to your goals, and handcrafted preparation for your unique mind-body to support the incredible power that fuels labor.

What would that do for your life as a new mom (or mom of two, three, etc)? Would it mean newfound confidence and finally setting boundaries with your family? Or maybe entering postpartum with a sense of stability and calm that you have never experienced before. Or perhaps you feel like you can do anything and use the momentum of birth to boost that passion project you have been too scared to get started on.

All this can happen. It’s not outlandish. It is written into your DNA and physiology.

You just need to tap into it. Birth prep is not just about your environment, birth plan, diet and exercise…

You need a healthy, strong nervous system!

You already know what goes in the birth bag. You have been doing the prenatal yoga, vitamins, visualization, meditations, daily walks, and childbirth course. You do all this to prepare for birth and that moment you finally get to meet your baby.

But what you’re missing is training your nervous system.

Mastering the ability to “ride the waves” physically and emotionally - they’re inseparable!

Preparing your muscles and repeating affirmations will only get you so far in birth. And labor won’t stop when your tools run out. That’s why perinatal somatic work is so important.

This work trains you at the primal level, connecting your innate instincts to your mind, allowing you to contain and surrender to whatever comes up. No matter what happens. Somatic mindfulness is the birth prep that most childbirth programs miss. That is largely because it cannot be taught on a mass scale. It is specialized one-on-one work, recalibrating, rewiring, and strengthening your nervous system for the labor your body was designed for.

“If I was made for this, why do I need to prepare?”

Because, in our modern culture, we are so disconnected from our primal roots. We are disconnected from our body’s intelligence. We do not create the space to listen to our body’s language and we do not know how to listen.

“How do I know that I need this program?”

Signs your nervous system is weak, distressed, or in need of care:

  • mood swings

  • depression, anxiety, irritation, or shutting down

  • difficulty sleeping or relaxing

  • difficulty letting go of control

  • tiredness, fatigue, or low motivation

These issues are warning flags from your body and must be addressed in pregnancy to achieve a positive birth experience! Your body is so resilient and ready to grow. You just need to give it the right support.

Here’s How it Works

  • Month One

    We will start by discussing your fears and doubts about birth and visions for the future. Then we will establish a strong mind-body connection, setting the foundation for the deep work in the next phase.

  • Month Two

    Once we’ve got a solid somatic foundation, we’ll begin to dig deep (but gently) into past experiences that have shaped your beliefs. You’ll learn how to experience your emotions fully while remaining in control, grounded, and compassionate.

  • Month Three

    Finally, in this month you will master your emotions, widening your window of tolerance so that you can ride the waves of labor and be excited to meet your baby!
